Vertical continuous conveyors are used to move packages between conveyors at different elevations. These are usually used when moving between floors of a facility, over fixed obstructions such as piping or fire walls, or when elevation changes need to happen in a very small footprint. Packages are metered into the VC unit onto slats and those slats are raised or lowered by chain to the correct elevation, and then the slats move forward to transfer the load onto the receiving conveyor. These VC units have been used in freezer/cooler installations, to move products onto or off mezzanines, between floors, or onto transfer conveyors between buildings. How it Works
